HSYC’s Trap-Neuter-Return Program

Feral animals in our community represent a unique challenge. Cat overpopulation is a serious concern. On average, approximately 2 percent of feral and stray cats have been spayed or neutered. These cats produce around 80 percent of the kittens born in the U.S. each year. If you are caring for a free-roaming cat, please make sure he/she is sterilized.

All procedures are performed by a veterinarian in a sterile environment, while the cat is under general anesthesia. The cat will recover very quickly. And usually, within 10 to 20 minutes they are awake enough to walk around.

If you have feral cats in your area, you may want to complete a trap-neuter-return form to participate in the next trap-neuter-return event.

Feel free to call the shelter for more up-to-date information.

Must be a YATES COUNTY resident.
