Our Mission
The mission of the Humane Society of Yates County is to advance the humane treatment of animals in Yates County, New York. This is accomplished through actions which promote the adoption of stray or unwanted animals, which reduce cruelty to dogs and cats, and which reduce the over breeding of domestic animals. All cats and dogs or spayed/neutered prior to adoption, unless too young to do so. The Humane Society of Yates County depends on volunteer and private financial assistance from the residents of Yates County to carry out its program. To carry out this mission, the Shelter of Hope was established.Who We Are
We are a group of volunteers and a staff of 3 who are dedicated to helping the animals of Yates County find quality homes. No animal will be destroyed due to the lack of a quality home. We try to put the animals in foster homes to be socialized and prepare them for a forever home. We are always in need of people who are willing to be "Foster Parents". If you would like to find out more about fostering a shelter pet please contact Bonnie Brewer, Shelter of Hope Manager at 315-536-6094. With your help we can make Yates County a safe county for the animals.
