(Adopted 8/16/08)
Cuddles is an 8 year old neutered male. The staff were told he was left only for boarding, but the owner never came back to claim him. No animal deserves that fate, but it’s especially hard on an older animal, who is used to a routine and his surroundings. Won’t you please consider offering Cuddles a stable environment in which to spend his adult years of his life? He is healthy, up to date on his vaccinations, and ready to give and receive lots of affection for years to come!
I have just been chosen to be the “Featured Pet”, and I am so excited to have the spotlight to myself! This is my big chance to finally find my forever family! I should start by telling you a little about myself. I am two years old, have been neutered, and have all my shots. I am a mix of a few breeds, my guess is I am a Shepard/Malamute mix. I am a big boy and I tend to forget and think that I am small. I love other dogs and kids, but because I forget I am big, I tend to knock small children over by accident. If you work with me and remind me to be careful, I know I can learn to be gentler. I just get so excited when I have visitors!! I love to run and play, and I am house broken. I am starting to lose hope that I will find my family. This is the second Shelter I have been in, and I don’t understand why nobody wants me. I promise I will be a good dog, if you will just give me a chance! Please come to the Shelter and see me. I will keep hoping that this will be my lucky month, and I will finally go home! I hope to see you really, really, really soon!! Sincerely,
Blitzen
Hi, my name is Phil. I am a neutered male, who is now 8 months old. I’m white with big grey spots on my back and on the top of my head, and I have a grey tiger stripped tail. I came in with my brother, Shorty, who looks like me but he’s orange and white. So anyways, I love to play and I’m very friendly. I can be a little skittish at times, but then I’ll come up to you and show you that I can trust you. I’ve been here for a while, so I think this is my home. I’m not complaining or anything, I have my brother and friends, and I keep on making new ones. But, I am looking for my new family. I like to sit in front of the window while people walk by. There are times I’ll paw at the window and the people will tap on the window at me. I like that a lot and to see the peoples faces light up and laughing! I really like it when I see small kids walk through the hall, because they always like to come in the room and play with us. I try to be the first one at the door to greet them. Usually I’m the one leaning on the door handle while you’re trying to come in. So, please come in and see me, and hopefully take me home and maybe my brother too! I don’t think I can leave him behind. We would both be sad, but again, we will both get the attention and a good place to stay, and we’ll both be in good hands. Hope to see you soon!
Pet of the month-Benson
December 2007 Pet of the Month- Flower! (adopted 1/10/08)
Hi, my name is Flower. I am a four-year old, spayed, female kitty. I have beautiful soft black and white medium fur, and my two front paws are declawed. I’m an indoor cat only - which I love, so I can be close to my family. I lived with two senior adults, three other cats, and a doggie before I came to the Shelter. My previous owners said I was scared, but you would be too when there is a big beast coming at you and all you have are back claws! So, anyways, living with them for so long, and then coming here, I am a little scared, but I will come up to you after a few minutes and I just looooove to be petted. Its’ been about 2 weeks since I was brought here and I just want to go home with my new family. I know Christmas is coming up and I would make a great present! Please come and take me to my new home! November 2007 Pet of the Month - FiFi (adopted 4/3/08)Hi, my name is Fifi. I am a 2-year old, spayed, black, female Feline. I’ve been here for about 1 ½ years now, and I just want to go home, where I can get some one-on-one time and get some attention to the point that it’ll be all about me! I mean, I love it here and all, and I have a lot of friends, but I want it to be “Me”. So lets talk about how my life was then I first got here. Some nice person brought me in. I don’t remember if I belonged to her or if she found me. I came in with fleas crawling all over me, I had ear mites, my ears were red and infected, and I had some type of discharge running from y eyes. I didn’t think the Shelter would take me, but I was wrong. They took me in and cleaned me up. About 2 weeks later, I was feeling GREAT. I was all excited to be clean and now I can find a new home. Days have gone by now, and no one wanted me yet. I knew the routine. When that hallway door shut, that meant there were people coming. Months have gone by now, and I thought maybe if I cleaned myself up some, spike up my hair (what I have on my head), and greet them at the door with a BIG smile on my face, that their hearts would melt, and maybe they would pet me and say “how cute I was”, but by the time I knew it, they were taking one of my friends home instead. I always sit and wonder if they are talking to their new owners about me and how great of a cat I was, and maybe talk them into coming back for me. (sigh)…but, here I am, sitting on the pillow by the window, watching the people and wondering “when will it be my turn to go home?”.Please come by and I’ll show you what kind of a cat I am!!! |
