Waiting List Tours Surrender Hours Adoption Board of Directors Volunteers

Does the Shelter have a waiting list?

Yes, it has three waiting lists. The first is for people who are looking for a specific request. The second and third are for people who want to surrender their cat or dog, but the shelter is full.

Does the Shelter of Hope offer tours?

Yes, groups and individuals are always welcome. Self guided tours are available any time the shelter is open. If the group would like a guided tour by a member of the staff, arrangements need to be made in advance by calling the shelter at 315-536-6094

Is there a charge to surrender an animal to the Shelter of Hope?

Yes, there is a fee which is determined on an individual basis.

What are the hours of the Shelter of Hope?

The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday  from noon until 5pm.  On Saturdays we are open from 10AM until 5PM.  If you can't make it during our normal hours of operation, please call us at 315-536-6094 for an appointment.

What is the charge to adopt an animal from the Shelter of Hope?

ADOPTION FEES:
               
                Adult dogs:  $165.00
                Puppies:  $175.00
                   
                    Price includes:
  Rabies vaccine, Distemper vaccine, Heartworm test, Kennel Cough vaccine
                            spay/neuter, bag of Science Diet food, NYS Dog License,
                            free health exam at Eastview Vet Clinic
                            10 days free telephone counseling

                Adult cats:  $95.00
                Kittens:  $40.00

                    Price includes:  Rabies vaccine, Distemper vaccine, Feline Lukemia test, spay/neuter of adults,
                            bag of Science Diet food, free health exam at Eastview Vet Clinic,                            
                            10 days of free telephone counseling

What kinds of things does a volunteer do?    

There are volunteer opportunities available for all ages, physical conditions, and interests. Volunteers can do anything from simply playing with the animals to better socialize them, to cleaning cages, to walking dogs, to grooming, to doing laundry, to helping with fund raising, to manning the desk, to doing lawn work, to just about anything you can think of!
