THE JOURNEY HOME…

The Humane Society Of Yates County’s “Journey Home” Pet Crematorium provides cremation services to people who have lost their pets. Regardless of the size or weight of your pet, we will tastefully furnish the end-of-life care your companion deserves. We pride ourselves on treating every animal with respect and dignity.

Cremation services are priced based on the weight of your pet.  When your pet passes, we can pick up from your home, or your veterinarian's office, after death.  To insure your pet is handled with dignity and care it is IMPORTANT TO NOTE that you should to instruct your Vet as to where you want your animal taken after death.  If you direct them to contact the Humane Society Of Yates County, we will respond immediately to handle the end of life crematory services and arrangements.  Or you can phone us directly and we’ll take care of all the details.

What separates us from other animal crematoriums is that we GUARANTEE that your pet will receive individual attention and tender, loving care and dignity.  As pet owners, we understand what it is like to lose a pet and we never lose sight of the fact that our pets are members of our family and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.  We are dedicated volunteers who are in the (not-for-profit) business of providing assistance and care to animals in need and that includes after death treatment with dignity.

If you select our Individual Cremation process, your pet is cremated individually and the remains are returned to the pet owner in our standard tin urn or a vessel you provide. The Humane Society Of Yates County GUARANTEES that your pet's remains and only your pet's remains are returned to you.  Our quality control procedures ensure that there is no co-mingling of remains.  Our special companions do not deserve to be brought to landfills and other unfamiliar places and we can provide you with the peace of mind knowing your animal remains are really those of your beloved pet.  We hope that provides comfort to you in your time of sorrow.

Rainbow Bridge Poem

The Rainbows Bridge Poem

In memory of

(pet name)

(date)

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
